NEW CHALLENGE

NEW CHALLENGE

Housing Affordability

It’s expensive to be poor in America.

That’s why the Reconstruct Challenge launched in 2019 — to support Access Ventures in addressing housing insecurity and ancillary costs that trap people in the cycle of poverty.

Food Justice

Many US families are unable to buy enough food for their families.

Food insecurity can be related to lack of stable employment, lack of accessible and/or affordable transportation to and from grocery stores, systemic racism or racial discrimination, lack of access to affordable housing and/or healthcare.

Equitable Employment

Breaking the cycle of poverty.

Obstacles inside and outside of the workplace leave individuals who want to work, out of the economy. These obstacles can include lack of transportation, childcare, and/or adequate employee benefits/support and more.

Healthcare Access

Affordable and accessible transportation is a significant barrier to equitable healthcare.

Low-income individuals, communities of color, elderly populations, and people with disabilities face significant barriers to health, ultimately leading to poorer health outcomes.

Maternal & Child Health

Many Women and families face significant challenges to adequate healthcare.

Inadequacies and biases within the healthcare system contribute to significant challenges in maternal and child health, particularly for Black and brown women.
